  • All Tech Wear garments made of OFX-100 fabric with our ESD knit cuffs or the “Key option” used as recommended, will meet the requirements of the National ESD Association’s ANSI/ESD STM 2.1-2018, Category 3, “Garment used as primary grounding path for personnel” and/or “Grounded through a single wire constant monitor system”, and will maintain these performance characteristics for a minimum of 100 washes or 2 years, whichever comes first.

Tech Wear’s patented “X2” dual-path garments made of the OFX-100 fabric meets Category 3 – “Grounded with dual paths to ground via continuous monitoring equipment that requires two separate paths to ground”.

  • 2.3 oz per square yard.

    5.0 oz per square yard.

    • NASA Blue, Royal Blue, Black or White

  • 65% polyester, 34% cotton and 1% carbon modified nylon in a woven grid pattern.

Nylostat is a heavier, softer, more natural feeling fabric intended for non-critical ESD applications, where basic static shielding is desired. It is not suitable for grounding via cuffs or Key Option, nor is it guaranteed. Nylostat has a precured soil-release resin finish to offer easy care characteristics to garments. Such properties as wrinkle resistance in use and no iron properties when washed and tumble dried minimize the maintenance effort for the wearer.

  • Electrical resistivity influences the accumulation of electrostatic charge on a fabric. Specimens conditioned at 50% relative humidity and 70°F are tested for resistance to passage of electrical current. The surface resistivity should be less than 1011 ohms.

  • Using a standard test procedure to apply both positive and negative 5000 volt charges to fabric samples, the time required for a specimen to drop to 10% of charge potential and for complete dissipation of the charge are measured. The shorter the time to zero voltage the better a material’s ability to dissipate a charge induced on the surface is when grounded.

    Test Results:
Description Surface Voltage Decay Resistivity Time (sec.)ohms/unit sq.) to <10% Orig.
    Unlaundered: 2.6 x 106 < 0.01 seconds
    25 launderings: 4.7 x 108 < 0.01 seconds
    50 launderings: 4.8 x 109 < 0.01 seconds

  • Wash in cool or cold water with any commercially-available liquid detergent, hang dry or dry at 120°F or less. Do not bleach, iron, or use fabric softener. The carbon-suffused monofilament nylon is sensitive to heat and should not be exposed to laundering heat in excess of 120°F. Wash at 90°F or lower, and tumble dry at low heat or hang dry.
